What I accomplished

My blog

This is a blog that I built at the beginning of my learning journey with the help of brilliant Kewin Powell, the master of CSS. I haven't personalized it yet so the main thing in this project is its content, that is my projects. Some of them I built myself and I call them Solo projects, some of them I built while I was following Scrimba's "Front-end development career path". I took the existing projects and made them my own by adding some features on top.

Codewars results

Thanks to "Founders and coders" application requirments I found this way of training JavaScript. This was an amaizing experience that helped me to actualize my theoretical knowledge and I am going to continue using this tool in the future to develop it even more. One of my favorite katas was 6kyu "Multiplication Table". I learned how to create an array with a constructor, fill and map methods and how to return multiple arrays with renewed values by playing with array's elements and indexes.

Scrimba

It all started with Scrimba. I can't even describe how I love the way they teach programming. The interactivity of the platform coupled with teachers' personalities and encouragment made the whole learning process a fun game, that I became addicted to. I'm proud to be Scrimba's graduate!

My GitHub

If I knew how important GitHub is, I'd had more contributions in it. During the working process, I learned how to write conventional commits.

Who I am

Ann, aspiring web developer

A little about me: linguist by training and a language tutor, last year I decided it was time for a new challenge and switched to learning programming languages instead. I found out that the language structure itself with its grammar intricacies drew me more to it than its usage. When I started coding, I felt that I finally can use pure language structures with instant feedback on my performance from the tutor - a computer.

My achievements so far: I graduated both MY university and school with distinction (despite certain mental health issues because of an abusive parent), I was finding and keeping a lot of language students when being a tutor, learned English, found strength to proceed with my life and career, despite the difficulties.

Finding a deeper connection with programming: I'm a natural debugger as I'm constantly debugging my own head. Coding grounds me and reminds me to break life challenges into small pieces and not to be overwhelmed by them. Each dopamine spike after solving a problem gets me more attached to programming.

Why Founders and Coders is a good fit for me: I deeply believe in a non-hierarchical approach to education – the one used by F&C. My plan is to find a position as a front-end developer in the next six months. Being accepted to Founders & Coders would certainly help me to advance this goal.
